What should be paid attention to when using hot melt yarn

Whether you're using hot melt yarn for your next knitting project or for a craft project, it's important to read the label carefully. The label contains information about the yarn's key stats. It's also important to follow care instructions.

When reading a yarn label, you'll want to be aware of the color, thickness, and weight of the yarn. These characteristics will affect your finished piece. You'll also want to check the label for any special requirements, such as dyes, fibers, and dyeing.

Some of the more common hot melts include polyolefin, reactive urethane, and polyamide. These formulations perform well and are suited for industrial purposes.

The fiber is typically woven into fabric. You can use fillers to increase the melting point and bond strength. You should also avoid burning or ironing the yarn. This can destroy the fiber and result in poor quality.

In addition, you should always store your yarn in an airtight container. Moths can chew holes in balls of yarn and cause damage to the fiber. Keeping your yarn in an airtight container will kill the moths' eggs and prevent them from re-occurring.

Another thing to keep in mind is that different fibers have different properties. For example, cotton will burn quickly. Animal-based fibers such as wool will smell like burned hair.

You'll also need to consider the temperature of the yarn. If it's too hot, the yarn will melt. In the summer, temperatures can approach 30 degC, which can partially melt the yarn.
