On the characteristics of fiber fabrics

(1) Cotton fiber: its main characteristics are fine fineness, moderate length, soft and natural twist, good moisture absorption and thermal insulation. Cotton fiber can not only spin medium and coarse special yarn, but also can be spun into fine yarn. The mercerization effect can be obtained by the moderate action of it with alkali, and the dyeing performance is also good. Therefore, cotton fabric has the advantages of soft, warm, moisture absorption, air permeability and excellent wearing performance. The main disadvantage of the method is the poor wrinkle recovery.

(2) Wool fiber: it has the characteristics of natural curling, low initial modulus, small bending rigidity, strong elastic recovery and low thermal conductivity; The moisture absorption of wool is natural fiber, and the moisture dispersing property is good; The surface of wool fiber has scales, which makes the wool fabric have the property of shrinking and making the fabric glossy and soft. The wool fiber has a good affinity for dyes, so the color of wool fabric is also beautiful. The wool fabric is clear and elastic, soft and has body bone, smooth (slippery glutinous) and full, which is called "hair type feeling".

(3) Natural silk: slender and soft, smooth surface, elastic, moisture absorption, and gorgeous, shiny. Silk has good affinity to dye, better elasticity than cotton fiber, and silk fabric is not easy to wrinkle than cotton fabric. Therefore, silk fabric has the characteristics of sliding, tapping, cool, bright and good drape.

(4) Hemp fiber: it is characterized by high rigidity, strong moisture absorption and quick moisture release. The disadvantage is that the elasticity and elongation are small. The woven fabric is stiff and air-proof, which is easy to absorb sweat from human body and quickly emit.

(5) Chemical fiber: there are many kinds and rapid development, with rapid development, different fiber varieties and large differences in fabric properties. The following are widely used.

① Viscose fiber: it is similar to cotton in nature, but its strength is worse than cotton, especially low wet force, large elongation and small recovery performance, small rigidity, soft hand feel, strong moisture absorption, good air permeability and good dyeing property. Therefore, viscose fiber fabric is soft, bright in color and good in drape. The disadvantage is the lack of body and bone, and the feeling of "floating". Easy to wrinkle deformation, large shrinkage, poor dimensional stability.

② Polyester fiber: good elasticity, strong wear resistance, tensile initial modulus, good rigidity, deformation recovery performance. Polyester fabric is straight, elastic enough, stable in size, good in firmness and excellent in crease resistance. The disadvantages are poor moisture absorption, easy to generate static electricity, easy to stain the fabric, poor permeability, and smog. But easy to wash, dry, no hot, there is a "wash can wear" the reputation.
